A SHORT UPDATE

Wow, it is December already! Are you already for Christmas? I am NOT!!! I haven't even been able to update my blog very well, so sorry.
I have been under the weather as of late and haven't felt like doing much of anything.
Last night for Family Night a few of us went to the pool. For some of us that is just not our thing. And then there were a few who just sat and watched those in the pool.
Who actually went swimming? It was of course our two swimmers Thomas and Ryan,
they had to see who was fastest. It was Ryan! It really wasn't fair for Thomas since he hasn't been swimming for over two years. Then Jacob, Joellen and Anna (this was her first time at the pool, and loved it). I got to the pool and realized I didn't have my camera,
so sorry again no pictures at the pool.
But after wards we went home to have Hot Fudge Ice cream. Yes, on a cold and snowy night. But it was oh so good. I did get a picture of Anna and Grandpa. He was trying to get her to sleep since it was way past her bedtime. It was a very fun evening.

Anna's 1st Birthday

Anna didn't know what to play with first. She also
started to walk the week of her birthday. It is so great to see her
walk like a drunken monkey. After her cake and ice cream
she was so hopped up on sugar she just kept moving.
A way fun time!

We had a little birthday party at our house for Anna.
It was so fun watching her open her presents.

Axel's Blessing Day

Axel Kent Jenkins was blessed on November 2, 2008.
Justin wanted to wait until Thomas got home so he
waited a few months. We had Rachel's family
and our family over to our house after the blessing.
It was a great day.

Halloween

Axel the pirate. Rachel made the cute outfit. Arh. Oh, so cute!!!

The Salt Lake store wanted everyone to wear a costume.
Glen was the new law in town. If you look close he has a mustache.
It was a fun day.

He is Back Home

Doesn't he look GREAT!!! Thomas got home from his mission on
October 15, at about 10:50 PM. It is so great to have have him home.

Thomas, Ryan and Amanda on the ride home. Yes, Amanda was
happy to have Thomas home. I just got her at a bad time.

Ryan swimming

Ryan is on the WX swim team this year. He had a practice meet on Oct. 10, he was very nervous because he has really only been swimming for three weeks and didn't really know how to dive off the block. Everything went well and his time was down too. He wondered why he was so nervous. And actually had fun.

Coming Home

We finally got a release date, and yes I did call Salt Lake. They gave me that date. Then later that week we recieved a letter from Thomas' Mission and they had him going home to Louisianna. No we haven't moved. So Glen called and they had Thomas mixed up with another Elder going home the same day. So on Tuesday Sept 23rd we got more travel papers. He will be getting home on October 15, 2008 at 10:41 PM. Yes, you read it right 10:41 PM at night. But at least it is on the 15th of October. What a time.
Our Ward has Thomas speaking in Sacrament Mtg. on October 26th at 10:50 am. So we hope to see all of you then.

Alaska Fishing Trip

Glen & Marie's Fishing Trip
The end of July we went to Alaska fishing with some of our friends,
six of us in all. It was so much fun. We have been to Alaska on cruises,
but this was the first time for me to see some of the country
side, drive the roads, and to fish.
We went down by Homer fishing for Halibut. We went fishing
two days. We all got a lot of halibut. Boy, were the two 60 lb
halibut hard work to reel in. But I did both by myself. I also caught
7 small shark (this actually is bad luck according to some fishermen)
we just throw those back.
It was also neat because we were sitting
outside looking at the bay at 11:30 pm and the sun was
just going down. Then it would be light at 5:00 am.
We then spent two days fishing for salmon in Seward. This was
great fun also. I loved the scenery, Alaska is such a beautiful place.
It is also so cool, (weather) it never was to warm. I would like to
go there some winter. We had such a wonderful time, and
really enjoyed the fishing. Now we have a good food storage of fish.

G & M in Alaska

Guess who caught the biggest halibut?
You guessed it, Marie! I actually caught a 60 lb. halibut
both days we went fishing. Beginners luck I think.

Marie and Eileen Knighton with salmon and
rock fish that we caught.

Anna

Hey, are you looking at me!

Thomas in Montreal, Canada

Happy serving the Lord!!!

This is last winter in Canada, they had more snow than
they have had in many many years!

Little Axel

About Happy Family by G & M

Well, I am sitting here all by myself. I was looking at Jacob and Joellen's blog and some others and thought I would like to do that myself. So I think I have figured this out all by myself. This is a big deal for me to do something on the computer without the kids help.
The Glen and Marie Jenkins Family
was created just 30 years ago this month. We have had such a wonderful life together. We have lived in Woods Cross for almost 29 years. I guess you can say we love it here. We have 5 wonderful sons and 1 beautiful daughter. Two, oh so cute grand babies. Anna 9 months and Axel 8 days old. Two wonderful daughter-in-laws. Our 4th son (Thomas) is serving the Lord for the Church in the Canada, Montreal Mission and he will be home sometime in October! We are all so excited. He will come home to a new sister-in-law ( Rachel), and a niece and a nephew. He is still loving his mission, (I guess that is why we still don't have a release date yet).
